Actress Judi Dench (90) has created a special memorial for her late colleague Maggie Smith. Dench is known for having trees planted for friends who have died, the British news agency PA reported.
Dench himself said in a new BBC documentary that she has trees for all those who are gone. The tree for Maggie is a crab apple. Smith died at the end of September at the age of 89. For example, she starred in the series “Downton Abbey”, the “Harry Potter” films and in the comedy “Sister Act – A Heavenly Career”.
“A dear and special friend”
“I knew her for a very, very long time,” Dench said in the documentary “Maggie Smith at the BBC.” She was very, very funny and incredibly witty. “And truly a dear and special friend.” She could also be scary at times – you didn’t want to be on the wrong side of “Mags”, joked Dench.
