Police speak of “tumult” and six people injured

“Yesterday at noon there was turmoil at an event in Gesundbrunnen,” the police said in a report on December 29th. They were on duty “as part of an influencer’s campaign in a waffle shop” between around 12:30 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. Even before the appointment scheduled for 2 p.m., around 1,000 people – mostly young people and children – had gathered in front of the store. More crowds arrived. After the influencer appeared for the first time and the number of people on site grew to around 2,000, there were “first unrest”. The emergency services had to take an eight-year-old boy out of the danger area because of “short-term shortness of breath.”

The influencer and the shop owner agreed with the police to stop the campaign. During the departure there was a crowd in which “several people were said to have thrashed around wildly”. A ten-year-old girl was hit in the chest and was taken to a clinic for inpatient treatment. Four other minors also reportedly experienced shortness of breath and circulatory problems. In the girl’s case, an investigation is underway for grievous bodily harm.

“There were just way too many people”

“Guys, unfortunately the police stopped it. […] But there were just far too many people.” He was told that there were more than 5,000 people on site. He describes the whole thing as a “state of emergency.” However, Jindaoui can understand why the police stopped the event : “In the end it’s about your safety.” The fans shouldn’t be angry.

By Louisa Jindaoui, among other things, the crowds show. In the clip she thanks the fans for their keen interest. “Oh my God, there were so many of you there. […] Then the police stopped the whole thing because nobody really expected so many people. […] We’re so sorry we couldn’t take a photo with everyone.”
