Pep Guardiola reveals: Erling Haaland has become a father
Ex-BVB striker Erling Haaland and his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen have become parents. However, it is unclear whether this information was intended for the public.
After Manchester City ended its results crisis in the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Leicester City, a comment from Man City coach Pep Guardiola made people sit up and take notice.
When asked about striker Erling Haaland, Guardiola said: “Sometimes Erling has been judged badly, but that’s part of football. He’s tired, he’s played a lot of minutes. He became a father for the first time in the last few days, that’s a lot of emotions and an exciting few days for him.”

He had already indicated in October that Haaland and his girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen were expecting a child by celebrating a goal – but nothing more. “It was a difficult time,” said goalscorer Haaland about his club’s crisis. “It’s New Year’s now and I’m not thinking too much about football at first. Now we can relax a bit.”
