Cristina Kirchner’s resolution that stopped the promotions of military relatives of repressors

In 2010, during the presidency of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the head of Defense, Nilda Garré, dozens of high-ranking military personnel retired.

The decision was made through the Resolution 1581, with the reason that all of them “had some type of blood relationship with repressors or people linked to crimes against humanity” committed during the last dictatorship.

During the presidency of Mauricio Macri, efforts had begun to nullify the measure taken by Garré.
