Kueider case: they release the video of the moment in which the former senator was arrested

The National Tax Revenue Directorate (DNIT) of Paraguay released in the last few hours the video that shows how it was the vehicle inspection of the former senator from Entre Ríos, Edgardo Kueiderand his secretary Iara Guinsel Costa, where they found him US$211,000 undeclared. The Argentine has been detained since the early hours of December 4, investigated for alleged smuggling and money laundering.

In the images you can see how the senator and his secretary enter the Paraguayan immigration office at 11:57 p.m. and leave at 12:20 a.m. Later, during a second checkthe Paraguayan authorities checked Kueider and Costa again and, after finding the backpack with the undeclared dollars, They proceeded to arrest both.

Both are being investigated by the Paraguayan Justice for alleged smuggling and money laundering. Furthermore, Kueider was expelled from the upper house on December 13in a controversial session due to the role played by the vice president, Victoria Villarruel, while the president Javier Milei was traveling.

In the midst of the investigation, Judge Arroyo Salgado rejected the request from the defense of the former PJ senator from Entre Ríos to guarantee his freedom if he is extradited to Argentina from Paraguay. In the resolution to which Agencia Noticias Argentinas had access, Arroyo Salgado argued that there is “danger of obstruction” of investigation and, if Kueider or his secretary are released, “could destroy, modify, hide, delete or falsify evidence from this investigation“.

“There is a certain and unapparent danger in the record that, if the requested exemption from prison is granted, Kueider and his secretary could hinder research in development“, he stated.

After the dismissal of Edgardo Kueider, the opposition will ask to annul the law Bases

While the judicial investigation against Edgardo Kueider progresses, representatives of the Union for the Homeland and the Left Front in the Chamber of Deputies they advance with a common initiative to annul the sanction of the Bases law and tax reform.

At the meeting to settle the initiative were present Nicolás Del Caño, Miriam Bregman (FIT), Germán Martínez and Santiago Cafiero (Union for the Homeland). Although there is a project presented by the FIT, Peronism indicated for this medium that “the meeting was to exchange information and see how to coordinate the different initiatives“and that the Peronist bloc is working on its own project to nullify the Bases law, with the impetus of the Entre Ríos Blanca Osuna.

“Kueider raised doubts with the Bases law, almost raising a demand to be bribed,” Osuna herself said for Ámbito, in reference to the treatment of the project in the Senate, and detailed that “we are raising this that there is a vice of the will“, understanding that “we are facing a fact of notorious illegality and objective conditions of nullity“No one can be distracted by the seriousness of the evidence, because it would question the value of democratic institutions to naturalize such crimes,” he described and concluded by pointing out that nullity is about “a necessary rectification“.

Previously, during the session that ended by decreeing the dismissal of the Entre Ríos native, the senator Anabel Fernandez Sagasti (Unión por la Patria) pointed to the circumstances in which Kueider’s accession to the Bases law occurred. “They didn’t have the numbers for the ruling and there was a signature that gave them to them: that of Senator Kueider. He had made 40 written observations on the Bases law and, despite that, he signed the opinion,” he recalled.
