Jocelyn Wildenstein died on Tuesday (December 31) in Paris at the age of 79. The Swiss woman, who was known for her obvious passion for plastic surgery and was nicknamed “Catwoman” because of her feline features, died shortly before a New Year’s Eve celebration, as did her long-time partner Lloyd Klein (57).

In good health a few days before her death

“We were getting ready for the New Year, and we took a little nap just to look good before we got dressed,” the designer said. “When I woke up I said, ‘Jocelyn, we have to get up, we have to get dressed,’ and she was dead.” His partner’s legs were “very swollen” due to phlebitis. “The blood was blocked and the brain was not supplied with oxygen,” he said about the cause of death. Klein continued: “It’s very sad. It’s very sad to lie down with your other half, who I’ve known for 21 years, waiting to celebrate New Year’s Eve and then find her like this.”

The two had previously spent “wonderful” holidays and Wildenstein’s health was “wonderful” a few days before her death. “We were at the Ritz two days ago. We had dinner,” Klein said. “Before that we went to Chanel for Fashion Week. Everything was good.”

Wildenstein gained a lot of attention in the 1990s following her divorce from the wealthy art dealer Alec Wildenstein (1940-2008). , she is said to have received $2.5 billion. Fashion designer Lloyd Klein has been the man at her side since 2003, and the two are said to have been engaged since 2017.

Known as “Catwoman,” Wildenstein repeatedly made contradictory statements about her appearance. She claimed that her cat-like facial features were not the result of plastic surgery. In an interview with the British newspaper “The Sun” she said: “I haven’t had any plastic surgery. I’m afraid of what could happen.” She also explained: “I don’t like Botox. Everyone reacts to it differently. I’ve only had Botox injected twice. I don’t know if I’m allergic, but when I had it, it didn’t do me any good. The result wasn’t good . My face is swollen.”
