The second season of the Netflix hit series “Squid Game” has just been released. In a first trailer for the third season, the iconic “Young-hee” doll has company.

The second season of the streaming hit “Squid Game” has just been released, and Netflix is ​​already stirring up anticipation for the sequel with a short video. In a 16-second video, the “Young-hee” doll from the iconic game “Red Light, Green Light” can be seen – and another doll. “Everyone say hello to Chul-su,” Netflix wrote on the video on the X platform.

Three players in their green tracksuits can also be seen from behind in the teaser. The new season is scheduled to appear this year – Netflix still didn’t give an exact date in the first trailer. According to a statement from the streaming provider in December, the third season will be the last.

Second season sets a record

The South Korean production, which started in 2021, is considered the most successful Netflix series of all time. The second season was released on December 26th and according to Netflix, it set a record. The new season was viewed around 68 million times within four days – no other show has ever been watched that many times in the opening week.

The main character wants to put an end to the murder

In the series, 456 people, often with very high debts, are abducted to an island every year by a mysterious organization. There they have to take part in several Korean children’s games, which only end in a non-fatal way for one of them. Whoever passes all of them wins the jackpot of 45.6 billion won (currently the equivalent of around 30 million euros).

Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae (52)), who won the “Squid Game” of the first season as player 456, wants to find those behind the nasty competition and put an end to their evil activities. But the path to destroying the organization turns out to be difficult. That’s why 456 gets back in to smash the “squid game” from within.
