Scorpions drummer Mikkey Dee: Spent the holidays in the hospital
Mikkey Dee drummed for Motörhead for many years and is now part of the Scorpions. He had to take an unwanted break from music over the holidays.
Scorpions drummer Mikkey Dee says he spent the Christmas holidays in hospital. “Over the holidays I was hospitalized with severe blood poisoning (sepsis),” the 61-year-old Swedish musician wrote on Facebook.
He stayed there for three weeks and underwent multiple operations. “But now I’m home fighting these damn bacteria,” Dee continued. Luckily he received fantastic treatment at the University Hospital in Gothenburg. He thanked the hospital staff.
He’s working on getting back on the drum stool soon. Dee was the drummer for the rock band Motörhead for a long time, and now he drums for the Scorpions. The Scorpions are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year.
