David Schwimmer was in front of the camera for “Friends” for ten years. Now he remembered a shocking moment during filming.

David Schwimmer (58) reflected on his time on the set of “Friends” (1994-2004, on NBC) and reported a “really scary moment” while filming an episode. As the actor revealed, his former co-star Matt LeBlanc (57) had to do “kind of a dive” during a live recording. “He went completely pale and stood up, and I could see his shoulder was dislocated. He looked like he was going to pass out,” Schwimmer recalled.

The now 58-year-old then “immediately turned to the camera and shouted ‘cut, cut, cut’.” “It was really scary. You could see how badly he was injured,” said Schwimmer. Filming was then stopped and LeBlanc was taken to the hospital.

The “Friends” became real friends

For ten years Schwimmer and LeBlanc stood in front of the camera for the successful series together with their co-stars Jennifer Aniston (55), Courteney Cox (60), Lisa Kudrow (61) and Matthew Perry (1969-2023). During the filming of the sitcom, which is still a success today, the actors certainly experienced a lot on set. A real friendship developed between the actors. James Burrows (84), the director of the series, also contributed his part, as he revealed in his memoirs “Directed by James Burrows”. As director, he was responsible for “doing everything in his power to foster a community within the cast and to form a new group of actors to behave as a group and respect each other.”

“The first thing I did to make this happen was make sure the cast had every opportunity to become friends in real life,” Burrows said. To do this, the now 84-year-old Les Moonves (75), who was president of Warner Bros. Television at the time, asked for the company jet and flew to Las Vegas with the still young cast. There they went out to eat together and played one or two games of chance in the metropolis.
