The emphatically climate-friendly farm in Copenhagen has made an important course correction in its investments: in the future, the money will only flow into sustainable funds.
After criticism of investments in the oil business, the Danish royal family only wants to invest its money sustainably. Last year, the framework conditions for the royal family’s investments were adjusted to a greater focus on sustainability, the court’s financial manager, Dan Folke Pedersen, told the radio station DR. All shares in the two royal funds would now be in a sustainable investment fund. In the future, the money will only be put into funds with a declared sustainable investment goal.
Denmark is generally considered a climate pioneer. The royal family around King Frederik Nevertheless, according to the medium Danwatch, the royal family’s money is said to have been invested in investment funds in 2023, whose wide range of securities also included some of the largest oil companies in the world. The money from the royal family’s two charitable funds is managed by the major bank Danske Bank.
