The message after Perry’s death
“He was part of the whole community and everyone is mourning him. A lot of people knew him,” Kiratli said of Perry’s legacy. The donkey was brought to the set of the film in 1997 at the age of 3.
On the other hand, he told a fact that few knew about little Perry. “He was meant to be a calming influence on the polo ponies, but he was aggressive, so that didn’t work.”
He also added, “he had a huge personality. Tall the time many children came to see him. They didn’t know it was Shrek’s donkey. “They just knew it was a small, furry animal that they loved to pet.”
Finally he declared: “I can attest that many of “Donkey’s” classic head tilts, eye movements, and bouncing trots came directly from Perry“
