Rare appearance at the Golden Globe Awards: Jamie Foxx appears with daughter Anelise

Although he couldn’t take home a Golden Globe Award on the night of January 6th, Jamie Foxx (57) still outshone many at the awards ceremony in Beverly Hills. The reason for this is probably that Foxx only narrowly escaped death in April 2023. Now the Hollywood star, who appeared at the event accompanied by daughter Anelise Foxx (16), was obviously happy to be still alive.

At the Golden Globe Awards, Foxx was nominated for his Netflix comedy special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was,” but didn’t take home a trophy. The 57-year-old shined on the red carpet in an elegant black suit with pearl details on the lapels and black sunglasses. His 16-year-old daughter Anelise, however, appeared in a double-breasted white blazer and black trousers. She wore her curly hair down, as can be seen in pictures from the event.

Foxx is known to have suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage and a stroke in 2023. His life was apparently only barely saved in a hospital in Atlanta, as the star himself emphasized on the red carpet.

His attending nurse told him that he was a “five percenter”. That means that “less than five percent of the people who have what you have get out of here alive,” the nurse told him after a successful recovery.

Fans will soon be able to see Foxx again in a new action film. The fast-paced comedy “Back in Action” starts on Netflix on January 17th, in which the star can be seen alongside Cameron Diaz (52).
