First the wedding, and now a new job: Boris Becker’s new Spotify podcast with Andrea Petković was launched on January 6th.

The former tennis professionals Boris Becker (57) and Andrea Petković (37) have a new, joint project: released on January 6th. “It’s finally out,” Becker said happily on his Instagram page. A day earlier, he had announced in a countdown that he had something new in the pipeline for 2025, but that he was not allowed to talk about it yet.

That has now changed: They both published on their Instagram accounts to promote their podcast. In the video, Becker first calls his tennis colleague and then meets her on the tennis court. Boris Becker says: “Hey Petko, I have a really hot story going on. I can hardly wait to tell you: I would like to do a podcast with you about our favorite sport, where I can get all your questions answered and you can tell me everything about men’s tennis – and the truth.”

“Everything that moves the tennis world”

With the podcast, Becker focuses on his roots again and continues to recommend himself as a tennis expert. Viewers can’t expect any new revelations about his prison sentence for delaying bankruptcy or details about his two failed marriages. The announcement for the podcast says: “The two legends talk about everything that moves the tennis world – Grand Slams, records, tragic defeats, hard news and wild rumors. The Wimbledon champion and the top 10 player play balls to each other by combining unsparing analyzes with steep forecasts and exciting anecdotes from two world careers.”

In the first episode, Petković says that there are of course many podcasts, but “there is no one like this.” Because at her side is the legend Becker – “the one and only” – and she is happy that he called her and asked her. Becker reveals that he had been “concerned with the idea of doing a podcast for a while.” But for that he needs “a partner” who is familiar with female tennis and who hasn’t been retired for too long.

“First love never rusts”

At the end of his career he was a little “tired of tennis,” he then reveals a little private information. That’s why he gave himself a few years of distance. But the “most beautiful drug in the world” is the Wimbledon Court. And: “First love never rusts.”

The pilot episode also looks at the tennis year 2024. The tennis stars discuss why it wasn’t a good year for Daniil Medvedev (28) and what Alexander Zverev (27) is still missing from the Grand Slam title. They also look at the most promising newcomers.

At the end of 2024, Becker had to cope with another personal stroke of fate. His mother Elvira died in November at the age of 89. Otherwise, things seem to be going well for him after the seven months of imprisonment in 2022 and many private quarrels over the past decades. In September 2024 he married for the third time. Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro (34) supported him throughout the entire trial and prison term. He started a new life with her in Italy – which now also includes the tennis podcast.
