Robert De Niro plays the caring dad for daughter Gia (20 months) for the eighth time. He only finished changing diapers.

At the age of 80 he became a father again. Now Oscar winner Robert De Niro (81) spoke in an interview with the “Sunday Times” about his everyday life with a baby and about the mornings he spends watching YouTube with his 20-month-old daughter Gia.

“I’m an early riser,” says De Niro, who is raising the baby with Tiffany Chen (45), a martial artist and actress whom he met in 2015 on the set of the comedy “You Never Stop Learning,” in which she taught his Tai Chi -Teacher mimes. “I spend my mornings watching ‘Ms. Rachel’ with her and I give her the bottle,” he added, referencing the popular one. Rachel Accurso (42) provides her 13 million followers with educational videos for small children.

While others his age have been playing grandfathers for a long time, the actor has to take on the baby bottle again as a dad. When asked by the publication whether he also changes his daughter’s dirty diapers, De Niro replies: “No, no, but I used to.”

The film hero (“Always Trouble with Grandpa”) already has seven children: daughter Drena (53) and son Raphael (48), whom he shares with his ex-wife, actress Diahnne Abbott (80). The twin sons Julian and Aaron (29), whom he raised with actress Toukie Smith (72). As well as son Elliot (26) and daughter Helen Grace (12) from his ex-wife, actress Grace Hightower (69).

“I’m trying my best, that’s all”

When asked by Times reporters how his children would describe their famous father, he said: “Oh God, they would all give a different answer.” Family is very complex. “I’m trying my best, that’s all. I hope they will be happy,” said De Niro.

Already in February last year, his eighth offspring said she was an “adorable baby”: “When I look at her, everything else disappears. It’s a great joy and relief to just be able to be with her in the moment.”
