Diego Pooth competes in “Let’s Dance”: Is he dancing out of Mama Verona’s shadow?

As the eldest son of TV star Verona Pooth (56) and her husband Franjo (55), Diego Pooth (21) was in the public eye from an early age. Its special name alone, which is entirely San Diego, promised right from the start that the next celebrity might grow up here. TV shows at his mother’s side, modeling jobs, golf career and fitness hero – Diego has tried a lot. With his participation in the RTL show “Let’s Dance” (start date still unknown) he could now finally emancipate himself from Mama Verona.

“With ‘Let’s Dance’ I will definitely have to leave my comfort zone in order to convince,” he is quoted by the Cologne private broadcaster. “I’ll work on the missing talent with hard training and a lot of discipline. Unfortunately, my dance partner has a lot of work waiting for him, but I’m really looking forward to it!” Lack of fitness shouldn’t be the problem. For a long time he wanted to pursue a career as a professional golfer in the USA. As you can see, he also likes to work out in the gym and has developed considerable muscles.

Diego has been on red carpets alongside his mother since early on – and apparently would like to follow in her footsteps. Together with Verona Pooth, he has already taken part in a number of TV projects, such as the cooking show “Grill den Henssler” in 2019, “Die Hitwisser” in 2020 and the “80s Show” in 2021. They also acted as everything testers for “Hot or Scrap”. Also in the RTL show “Comeback or gone?” they worked together. In 2020, the mother-son duo chatted on the “Poothcast” podcast.

Diego also gained experience in the spotlight beyond the television industry. In addition to his studies, he earns money as a model. He has been under contract with the renowned Elite agency since 2023. In February 2024 he walked for Philipp Plein (46) at Milan Fashion Week.

During the corona pandemic, Diego Pooth moved to Florida in 2021 to become a professional golfer. Two years later he graduated from the elite sports academy “IMG”. He has since returned to his home country of Germany to study “digital entrepreneurship” in Berlin. Because he can also imagine a future as an entrepreneur.

The popular RTL show is now his first big TV show – without Mama Verona at his side. Boris Becker offspring Anna Ermakova (24), for example, proved that the show can be a good springboard. With her victory in 2023, she was able to free herself from her father’s oversized shadow, then landed a jury job on “Das Supertalent” and published several songs.
