Who is Marc Martel?
Born in Montreal, Canada, in his adolescence he developed as a Christian Rock musician. At the age of 23, he founded the band Downhere and since 2013 he went solo.
From a young age, he dazzled everyone who witnessed Marc’s versions of Queen songs. The local press and his followers began to call him “The Heir of Freddie Mercury”not only because of his characteristic voice and interpretations; but for the amazing imprint and quality of showman that he always displayed on stage.
Popularity did not take long to come for the young Martel, several of his videos on YouTube went viral, generating an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” among other important TV programs.
The quality of their performances and highlighting their presentation on American Idol alongside the Queen musicians themselves (Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor) managed to get them to contact him, meet with him and record some Queen versions together, until the proposal came to be “The Voice of Freddie” in the multi-award-winning and blockbuster film “Bohemian Rhapsody” 2018. A challenge that he accepted and after doing it in a brilliant and unbeatable way, he catapulted his career to global stardom.
