Due to devastating fires: Ralf Möller also had to be evacuated

Devastating forest fires are causing a catastrophe in parts of Los Angeles. Thousands of people have already had to be evacuated. Ralf Möller also fled the flames.

Anyone who lives in Los Angeles knows the danger that wildfires pose to the area. However, flames are currently raging through parts of the area, the effects of which are particularly devastating. More than 52,000 people have to leave their homes because of the violent fires. Almost 21,000 buildings are currently threatened by the flames. Including numerous celebrities with their villas.

Los Angeles: Ralf Möller flees fires

One of them is the German action star Ralf Möller, who lives in Santa Monica. He has already been evacuated and is waiting in a hotel for the situation to calm down and he can return home. Möller described to the “Bild” newspaper how he experienced the catastrophe situation in his adopted homeland. He makes it clear that the current fires are worse than those before. “I’ve never experienced anything like this in more than 30 years here in the USA. The situation is a catastrophe. The hot desert winds at 160 kilometers per hour fan the flames like a hairdryer held into the hot embers,” said Möller .

“We know similar moments from previous years. Mostly in September or October, however. But this time everything is different. The Santa Ana winds are causing real hell here,” he explains. The Santa Ana winds – particularly strong foehn winds with often dire consequences – are familiar to everyone in Los Angeles. Möller also explains that such catastrophic fires often occur in Malibu or in the north in Santa Barbara. His place of residence – Santa Monica – is actually considered safe. The fires are currently raging mainly not far from Santa Monica in the Pacific Palisades and in Pasadena.

Numerous villas burned down

“A few years ago, Thomas Gottschalk’s mill burned down because it was hit by swirling embers,” Möller remembers. “It’s dangerously flying around our ears everywhere here. The cars are covered in soot. The air is getting worse and worse. It’s worth billions in terms of damage and it just doesn’t stop,” said the actor.

Stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hanks and Reese Witherspoon have homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades district. Numerous properties there have already burned down.
