The critics organization London Critics’ Circle (LCC for short) announced this year’s winner for the “Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film” this Wednesday (January 8th). “As critics, we were fans of Daniel Craig’s adventurous roles even before he became James Bond,” said Rich Cline, chairman of the Critics’ Circle Film Section, in the statement. The organization, which is considered the oldest critics’ organization in the United Kingdom, honored his roles in “The Mother” (2003) and “Enduring Love” (2004), and then “enjoyed his great portrayal of 007.”

Over the decades, the acting star has “continually made bold decisions and pushed the boundaries that often limit other top stars. We love the ‘Knives Out’ films and have nominated him for ‘Queer’ this year. We look forward to seeing his “Celebrate your career at our ceremony.” The Dilys Powell Award honors special life achievements at the awards ceremony.
