The entrepreneur shared two photos on his website that only give an idea of the extent of the fires in Los Angeles. “A depressing time for the people of Los Angeles – one of the biggest fires in recent centuries leaves behind destruction and pain,” writes the 65-year-old about the photos that show the view of downtown Los Angeles in the morning. The morning sun appears blood red. A second shot shows a deep gray cloud of smoke over the city.
Maschmeyer’s thoughts are with those “who have lost their homes or have to flee.” Some celebrities are also among those who lost their homes in the flames. These include comedian and actor Billy Crystal (76), “This Is Us” star Mandy Moore (40) and Paris Hilton (43), as US media report. At the end of his contribution, Maschmeyer thanks all “the courageous emergency services, firefighters, rescue teams and relief workers who fight tirelessly for the lives and safety of the people in this city.”
