Luciano Benavides (KTM) won the fifth motorcycle stage of the Dakar Rally and approached the leader of the general classification, the Australian Daniel Sanders (KTM).
The 29-year-old Argentine pilot completed the 428 kilometers timed between Alule and Hail, in Saudi Arabia, in a time of 4 hours and 53 minutes, which served to take 11 minutes and 42 seconds off Sanders, who finished twelfth.
This way, Benavides finished the day in seventh place in the standings, 24 minutes and 15 seconds behind Sanders.
