Fires in Hollywood: Maschmeyer worried about his family

The family of financial investor Carsten Maschmeyer (65) and his wife Veronica Ferres (59) is also affected by the fires around Hollywood. “We are now being evacuated and are on the run,” Ferres wrote on Instagram.
“This is an absolute nightmare,” Maschmeyer told “Bild”. “One of the worst experiences of my life. I fear for the lives of my family, my wife, my children and grandchildren.”
According to “Bild”, the house in which Maschmeyer’s son Maurice lived with his family for rent in Pacific Palisades burned down completely. The investor is now in Venice with his family.
Several devastating major fires have hit Los Angeles since Tuesday, leaving a trail of destruction behind. According to media reports, around 130,000 people have fled and more than 1,000 buildings have been destroyed.
