Fire inferno in LA: Stars like Anthony Hopkins lose home

Fires also raged in several places in the US metropolis of Los Angeles on Thursday (January 9th), including in the posh residential district of Pacific Palisades. It had already become known on Thursday morning that the houses and villas of celebrities such as Billy Crystal (76) and Paris Hilton (43) had been destroyed by the devastating fires. And other stars were also affected.

It is reported that an impressive four-bedroom house in Pacific Palisades, which Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins (87) is said to have purchased in 2021 for six million US dollars, has been destroyed.

“How I Met Your Mother” star Cobie Smulders (42) is also affected by the flames. Smulders, who played fan favorite Robin Scherbatsky in the popular sitcom, also lives in Pacific Palisades with her two daughters and husband Taran Killam (42).

The acting star and Oscar winner Jeff Bridges (“The Big Lebowski”, 75) and Miles Teller (“Top Gun: Maverick”, 37) also lament the loss of their homes.

However, LA’s flaming hell has apparently been happier for Hollywood megastars Tom Hanks (68) and Steven Spielberg (78). Hanks’ property in the Pacific Palisades area survived the fires unscathed, while a house on the directly adjacent property went up in flames, as photos of the area show.

Spielberg’s extensive property was also unscathed. The two Hollywood greats have often implemented successful projects together in the past, such as “Saving Private Ryan”. It will probably be some time before the true extent of the damage in Los Angeles becomes known.
