Starting this year, all professionals are enabled to generate electronic prescriptions, and authorized platforms They offer this feature for free through devices such as mobile phones or tablets. To be valid and can be used in pharmacies, prescriptions must include this series of data:

  • Identification of the doctor or prescribing professional (name, registration, profession, specialty and address).
  • Bar-code.
  • Patient identification (name, social security or prepaid insurance, date of birth, ID and sex).
  • Description of the prescribed medication with generic name or international non-proprietary name, presentation, pharmaceutical form and number of units for the indicated treatment. Optionally, the trade name of the medication that the professional suggests.
  • Diagnosis.
  • Issue date.
  • Digital signature of the professional.

How to register in the system

To register in the system you must follow the following steps:

  • Generate a user in the Interactive Information System (SII). With the account enabled in the SII, you can request access to the Electronic Prescription System.
  • Once you receive the email with the Username and Access Code to the Interactive Information System, the assigned password must be modified.
  • Once the password has been modified, it must be registered in the CUP platform of the page.
  • Access permission must be requested Electronic Prescription System through the CUP Systems Platform and self-manage the permit.
  • To ensure the security of the Electronic Prescription System, the user must complete two-step authentication via One-Time Password (OTP). To do this, you need to have the Google Authenticator application and link your mobile device.
