Were looters trying to clear out Kamala Harris’ home amid the Los Angeles fire tragedy? The police arrested two suspects.
In Los Angeles and the surrounding area, in addition to the fear of fire, the fear of looters is also spreading. In recent days, local law enforcement authorities have arrested numerous people who attempted to steal valuables from empty or half-burned houses. Vice President Kamala Harris (60) in Brentwood also apparently has to worry about this.
Curfew violation
Los Angeles police said two people were arrested near their home at 4:40 a.m. Saturday. Ultimately, however, they were unable to prove that they had broken into the vice president’s home. However, they were arrested for “curfew violation.”
Since the end of last week, a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew has been in effect in the evacuation zones to curb looting and unrest. According to Deadline, officials have already arrested 29 people in the affected areas since the fires broke out, including for burglary and violating the curfew.
Kamala Harris is in Washington
After Kamala Harris attended Jimmy Carter’s (1924-2024) funeral at the National Cathedral on Thursday with her husband Doug Emhoff (60), she canceled a planned trip abroad in view of the fire disaster. It is unclear when she will travel back to her native California. There are no known plans by the Vice President to visit California before Donald Trump’s (78) swearing in on January 20th.
