George Clooney is inextricably linked to Nespresso. At the start of the year he followed up with another clip and celebrity support.
George Clooney (63) goes looking for the stolen coffee capsules. For Nespresso, the actor transforms himself into a detective and, like the legendary Hercule Poirot, investigates in a luxurious train – complete with a trench coat, hat and mustache.
Star cast in the Nespresso spot
The injured party in the mysterious clip: a rich heiress, played by Camille Cottin (46). Her coffee capsules were stolen – a case for “Detective George”. The French actress has already starred in a previous Nespresso commercial and is therefore very familiar with the subject. But she is also familiar with the elegant crime genre: she recently starred in the Poirot crime thriller “A Haunting in Venice” (2023).
Her thieving counterparts are played by Eva Longoria (49) as the chef and Kim Go-eun (33) as the sous chef. “It was the first time I worked with my long-time friend Eva. She and Kim made the perfect culinary duo to outwit me,” Clooney enthuses in the press release. But his friendship shouldn’t get in the way of the tough investigation: Who stole the coveted Nespresso capsules – and maybe everything is completely different than it seems?
Eva Longoria is now “part of the family”
Eva Longoria is also very happy about her first joint project with her fellow actor: “Shooting this campaign was a huge pleasure, thanks to the humorous script and the great chemistry between us.” Nespresso commercials are always “iconic” – which makes the “Desperate Housewives” star all the happier “to be part of the family now.”
The 60-second spot, which was shot at Cinecittà Studios in Rome, will have its TV premiere on January 15th.
