“Alarm for Cobra 11” is back after two years. They explained in an interview what this means for Erdoğan Atalay and Pia Stutzenstein.
The motorway police are back: The “Alarm for Cobra 11” stars Erdoğan Atalay (58, there since 1996) and Pia Stutzenstein (35, since 2020) will report with their new film “No Child’s Play” on January 14th at 8:15 p.m Clock back in RTL. The second strip, “Hope,” appears a week later. As usual, the new films also promise a lot of drama and even more daring stunts. In an interview with spot on news, the two main actors revealed in the run-up to the release how they are feeling after the long break from television and what they want for their roles Semir and Vicky in the future.
The last three “Alarm for Cobra 11” were released in 2023 – how does it feel to be back with two new films?
Pia Stutzenstein: It feels good to be back.
Despite the years of experience, are you still nervous about the release?
Stutzenstein: Yes, of course. Of course you hope that it is well received and that it is seen.
Erdoğan Atalay: I’ve been doing this for 28 years and I still get nervous when I don’t have the script yet. I still get anxious right before filming starts when I don’t know what I’m going to do. Of course you also want to see that people like what you’ve done. We’ve done our best, that’s what we’re presenting now and of course we’re also excited to see whether people like it, whether people will still follow us – or not…
You’ve been there for 28 years – what does the role of Semir mean to you?
Atalay: Semir is like a good friend to me, we have similar tastes – and then again we don’t… (laughs) There are parallels. He has definitely grown on me over the years.
How do you think Semir has developed over the years?
Atalay: He grew older along with me. A little quieter, a little more professional, a little more sedate. But he’s still so impetuous, which I don’t want to break him of.
Vicky is the “new” partner at Semir’s side – how does she differ from her predecessors?
Stutzenstein: Well, she’s female (laughs). I can’t really say because I don’t know all of his partners inside out. I would say that with her there is a female perspective on everything. Especially when Semir has problems with wives and daughters, it’s nice to have a female position – that’s the biggest difference.
Atalay: This diversity could also be expanded really well. Semir has older values and then a young, pretty, modern woman comes along who of course embodies other values. There is still a lot of room for improvement.
What would you like to see in your roles in the future?
Stutzenstein: I would like Vicky to get a love interest, for her to fall in love and for it to end well – or not. Something like that would be nice.
Atalay: It would be best if the love interest left at the end. Which is simply evil, where you’ve just completely lost your way. That would be interesting.
Stutzenstein: But peace, joy, pancakes are also something beautiful…
What do you value about each other?
Stutzenstein: Erdoğan is someone who never lets himself be disturbed. I don’t know anyone on set who is as calm as him. This helps me extremely to stay with myself.
Atalay: The production sees it a little differently (laughs). Pia is really great. It’s a pleasure to work with her because she has incredible intuition about certain scenes. She is not a yes-man and has her own will, which she wants to enforce. Not that we’re getting into each other’s way, of course not. But if she doesn’t want something or doesn’t see it that way, then she doesn’t see it that way. You have to have good arguments to implement this. She also embodies something very special – regardless of the fact that she is also very pretty. She is unpretentious, not squeamish and is not too good for anything. It’s just beautiful how enthusiastic she is about entering a new scene.
Six “Alarm for Cobra 11” films have been announced, two films can be seen from January 14, 2025 – what can fans expect?
Stutzenstein: It will be emotional, brutal and exciting!
