She has no understanding for these people

Christina Applegate speaks out about people whose behavior during the Los Angeles fires she describes as “sick.”

Christina Applegate (53) speaks out against people who think the devastating forest fires in California are a good thing. The “A Terribly Nice Family” actress talks to her fellow actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler (43) about how “sick” she thinks such statements are.

“There aren’t really words for it,” Sigler says initially about the fires that have caused great destruction in the region around Los Angeles in the past few days. What Applegate does have words for, however, are “damned people who say it’s – you know – good.” In the opinion of such people, it’s just a matter of “Hollywood and these stupid Hollywood people.”

Hollywood is just “a small part of the city”

“We’re a small part of the city,” Applegate explains. “I mean, this is a city with people who work their butts off at fast food chains or who are construction workers and painters – and there are a variety of groups of people here. So to say, ‘Good thing we got rid of them ‘, is really sick, and I don’t like it at all.”

Sigler, known, among other things, for “The Sopranos,” is of the opinion that all citizens of Los Angeles are “dreamers”: “They all have big dreams and work from morning to night and work their asses off.” Of course there are people on site who can certainly recover from the disaster quite quickly. “And are there thousands of other people who literally have no idea where they’re going to start? Yes. And we need to hold them both in our hearts.”

Applegate also says that although her home is still standing, she had to leave it for several days because of the fire. The actress is on “constant alert.” She only prepared a backpack with important papers and things that are important to her. Her daughter Sadie, on the other hand, packed four complete suitcases.

The fires are considered the most devastating in California’s history. Hundreds of thousands of people have had to leave their homes, and it is estimated that at least 12,000 buildings have been destroyed in the Los Angeles region. At least 24 people have died in the fires so far.
