Brooke Shields reveals her 60th birthday plans. The actress doesn’t just want to celebrate a big party, but a whole year.

Brooke Shields turns 60 on May 31st. While on stage at an event called “An Evening with Brooke Shields” in New York City, she discussed, among other things, her new book, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.” Not Allowed to Grow Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman), she shared her unusual birthday plans. She celebrates with different groups of people and for months.

Brooke Shields doesn’t want to celebrate with a large group

“I have friends that I laugh so hard with. I have my drunk friends, I have my cereal friends,” Shields listed one out loud. “They each serve a different part of my soul and psyche.” Some of them are from their high school days. Sounds fulfilling, but this poses organizational problems.

“I used to think they all had to know each other,” she continued. “They all had to love each other. They all had to be best friends.” But trying to get them all together in the same room has been “just torture” for the actress in the past.

Shields will not unite the various groups on her big birthday either. Forcing them to celebrate with her as a large group is the last thing on her mind.

“I don’t have to do this for my 60th birthday year,” Shields stressed. “It’s in May, but I’m just going to party all year long. I don’t want another party. I’m going to do something special with groups of friends.” She wants to experience a lot in this special year. “I’m going to try to have experiences that I really want to have and spend the time and money on them,” she announced.

These guests come, others don’t

Shields’ daughters Rowan Francis (21) and Grier Hammond (18), as well as husband Chris Henchy (60), will also be among the party guests. She has “learned a lot” from her children when it comes to having difficult conversations with friends. After seeing her own friendships change over the years, she has had to “let go” of some people.
