Jennifer Lopez: Had to learn to like being alone
Jennifer Lopez has been married four times, most recently to actor Ben Affleck. She first had to learn to really enjoy being alone, as she now says.
Pop star Jennifer Lopez wants to be able to be happy without the company of others. “I had to learn to be alone in a healthy way – to be my own best friend, to enjoy my own company,” the 55-year-old explained to the magazine “Bunte” (Thursday). It always takes a lot of work to change something about yourself and your own patterns, she said.
The singer and actress filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck in the summer after two years of marriage. Before that she had had three other marriages. Lopez now explained that she raised her 16-year-old twins from her marriage to singer Marc Anthony “mostly alone.” “I’ve been in relationships, but the responsibility has always been mine.” She said of the two teenagers: “My children are so much more emotionally advanced, more open and more intelligent in their way of thinking than I was at their age.”
