“In this country many things happen in a year, when we wrote the work it was a different country than when we premiered it,” says Daniel Casablanca, who next to Diego Reinhold star “Argentina on the couch”, written by Marcelo Cotton in free version Casablanca, Reinhold and Guadalupe Bervih.
The work that won the ACE for best comedy show will be revived on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the Chacarerean Teatre, after a first season of performances. They offer a tour of the Argentine experience, with a couch as a dubious solution for the country. We talk with Casablanca.

Journalist: After doing the work for a year, what moments are the most celebrated by the public?
Daniel Casablanca: While we were rehearsing the country changed. It has many readings but a place that is greatly applauded is the Never Again, which continues to be like a flag of democracy beyond party ideologies. The public always responds and applauds when they discover Argentine data in therapy, people laugh a lot, celebrate and when they leave they are moved.
Q: Why do you think it worked so well? What is it about the work that is liked and generates word of mouth?
DC: It works because it generates identification, it is like talking about your family, a lady who is Argentina and is everyone’s grandmother, aunt, sister, children. It is our idiosyncrasy, our way of being, getting together to talk about our mother is entertaining and even more so if it is with humor. The humor is popular and national, the viewer buys because they feel identified and involved from the first moment.
Q.: How does the current reality impact or how is it reflected in that Argentine being that the work presents?
DC: The average Argentinian sometimes tries to escape from arguments and avoid confrontation. This show tries to escape from the crack and unite us all in the same quilombo, it creates a collective vision of Argentina, where we are all involved and no one is left out. The viewer appreciates it because it does not disqualify or classify types of Argentines, we are all in the same situation. That’s good for investigating, evaluating, for thinking out loud. It is good to get out of the way at this moment, sometimes thinking is tinged with violence and discussion and does not allow us to reach more fruitful conclusions.
Q: What is it like to be in Buenos Aires in the summer doing theater?
DC: Years ago it became a good summer square. Twenty years ago it was said that you had to start in April after classes started and to see theater it was Mar del Plata and Carlos Paz, then Buenos Aires arrived for the summer. There are many people from Buenos Aires who do not go on vacation or have left or will leave and appreciate seeing shows. January in Buenos Aires is a very good option to go to the theater. I premiered “Toc Toc” in January in Buenos Aires, it will be good.
