Bafta Awards: “Conclave” and “Emilia Pérez” lead the nominations

In the midst of a complicated awards season come the nominations for the best of cinema from the British Academy.

In an awards season affected by the fires in Los Angeles, Conclave and Emilia Perez lead the nominations for BAFTA Film Awards this year, leading a diverse mix of talent and titles in a competition where, for the first time in years, there is no clear favorite in any of the main categories.

The Brutalist, Anora, Dune: Part Two, Wicked and A Complete Unknown They also have a good chance of winning, while artists like Demi Moore (The Substance), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice), Ariana Grande (Wicked), Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez), Mikey Madison (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Yura Borisov (Anora), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), Zoe Saldana (Emilia Pérez) and Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) are among 12 of 24 nominated artists, both established and emerging, who will receive their first BAFTA nomination.

On the other hand, there is room for BAFTA regulars, such as Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun), Hugh Grant (Heretic) and Jamie Lee Curtis (The Last Showgirl).
