He calls for other fire priorities

Danny Trejo believes that an issue raised by Kim Kardashian in the context of the California fires is not important at the moment.
Hundreds of prisoners are currently supporting the fire department in California and fighting the devastating forest fires. Entrepreneur and reality star Kim Kardashian (44) recently called for better pay for criminals. Actor Danny Trejo (80), who once had trouble with the law and was imprisoned when he was younger, believes that now is not the right time for such conversations.
“Just put out the damn fire”
Trejo said that stars should not use the current situation for their agendas. He also addressed Kardashian directly in a video posted on the site: “Kim, take care of the people who have lost everything. You still have everything. Let’s take care of all the people who are walking around with nothing but the clothes on their backs .” Addressing the issue of remuneration now is wrong: “Just put out the damn fire and then we’ll think about what to do.”
Kardashian had previously mentioned in an Instagram story that is no longer accessible that prisoners who help out would be paid one dollar an hour “to risk their lives.” This amount has not been adjusted since 1984. She is calling on California Governor Gavin Newsom (57) to “do what no governor has done in the last four decades and raise wages […] to a sentence that honors a person who risked his life to save our lives and our homes.”
The fires are considered the most devastating in California’s history. Hundreds of thousands of people have had to leave their homes, and it is estimated that at least 12,000 buildings have been destroyed in the Los Angeles region. At least 25 people are reported to have died in the fires so far.
