Prince Frédéric von Anhalt is currently in an intensive care unit in Cologne. His adopted son has now shared details about his health status.

According to consistent media reports, Prince Frédéric von Anhalt (81) has been in the intensive care unit of a Cologne clinic for days. His most recently adopted son, footballer Kevin Prinz von Anhalt (30), has now visited the man in the hospital, who is suffering from severe pneumonia. “I was there and in the intensive care unit,” the ex-boyfriend of Til Schweiger’s (61) daughter Luna (28) reported to the station about his shocking visit to the hospital bed.

Prince Frédéric of Anhalt “never felt so bad in his life”

His adoptive father was “trembling and very weak.” The 81-year-old was also “connected to tubes.” Kevin von Anhalt continues: “We talked a bit, but he kept coughing, really badly from his lungs. I’ve really never seen him like that before.”

In the meantime, the sick prince himself has also spoken out via various media. “I’ve never felt so bad in my life. I hope it gets better soon. I get an injection in my stomach every day and I’m on a lot of tubes,” quoted the patient and ex-husband of acting legend Zsa Zsa Gabor ( 1917-2016).

Meanwhile, Anhalt sent a text message. It reads: “I’m stuck with pneumonia. I have no voice. Doctors say I have to stay in the hospital for three more weeks.”

Son Marcus is also expected to arrive soon

In the Cologne clinic, doctors are said to be trying to treat the prince’s inflamed lung. Oxygen therapy and antibiotics would be used for this. “The doctors are only getting it under control little by little,” reports von Anhalt. There is therefore no prospect of leaving the intensive care unit any time soon.

Frédéric Prince of Anhalt received his title in 1980 when he was adopted as an adult by Marie Auguste Princess of Anhalt (1898-1983). He adopted a total of six men, most recently the footballer Kevin Feucht, now Kevin von Anhalt. His adopted son Marcus Prinz von Anhalt (58) is also currently planning a trip from his adopted home of Dubai to Germany to stay at Prince Frédéric von Anhalt’s sickbed. According to RTL, he will also arrive in Germany “in a few days”.
