South Korean director Bong Joon Ho scored a historic Oscar win with “Parasite.” Now his new sci-fi film with Robert Pattinson is being shown at the Berlinale.
The Berlinale is showing the new science fiction film by award-winning “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho with Hollywood star Robert Pattinson. “Mickey 17” is being shown as a German premiere as a gala in the Berlinale Special series, as the Berlin International Film Festival announced. Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo also star.
The social satire “Parasite” by South Korean Bong Joon Hoo won four Oscars in 2020. His new film based on the book “Mickey7” revolves around a clone who takes on dangerous tasks during space expeditions.
Projects with “Saltburn” star Jacob Elordi and Cumberbatch
As a further special gala, the Berlinale announced the novel adaptation “The Thing with Feathers” by director Dylan Southern with “Marvel” star Benedict Cumberbatch in the leading role. The film adaptation of Richard Flanagan’s novel “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” with Jacob Elordi (“Saltburn”) is also running as a series.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp on January 27th, the film festival is showing the works “Shoah” and “Je n’avais que le néant – “Shoah” par Lanzmann”.
The 75th edition of the Berlinale is scheduled for February 13th to 23rd. The competition program is to be presented next Tuesday.
