Max Kruse: Footballer wants to lose 15 kilos with injections

The German footballer and former “Celebrity Big Brother” candidate Max Kruse (36) has declared war on the kilos. To do this, he relies on weight loss injections, his sports colleague Martin Harnik (37) tells me. “I’ve now started working on my figure. I want to lose ten to fifteen kilos,” explains Kruse. “You’re always trying things out. […] I’ve now started the fat removal injections.”

He should be injected once a week and he has already received one from his doctor. Kruse is expected to receive the injections for three to six months. “We started with a small dose, 0.25 milligrams, to see how the body reacts and stuff.” After two weeks, the liver will be tested “to see whether it can tolerate it well. So everything’s been great so far.” If his body tolerates the measure well, the dose can be increased to a maximum of one milligram per week.

Kruse can’t say exactly how much the whole thing costs. The costs would be 800 euros “total, I think”. Maybe even for three months. He doesn’t know, “but in the end it’s worth the money. You don’t have to worry about the money now. […] The only thing that counts is the result.”

Harnik asks how the whole thing actually works. Kruse then openly admits: “I don’t know much about it. He said I can eat however I want. I can continue to eat normally and I’ll still lose weight easily.” Max Kruse is a “marketing victim,” says Harnik: “It’s not your fault. You’re eating great, you can keep eating the way you do. I’ll just inject it into you here…”

Meanwhile, experts warn of side effects. Prof. Dr. med. Harald J. Schneider, the medication is not a lifestyle product and is only intended for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. “Uncontrolled use without an indication is associated with risks and side effects,” Schneider was quoted as saying. of “notable side effects” that may occur. According to the manufacturer, these include nausea, hypoglycemia, dehydration due to diarrhea and vomiting or, in rarer cases, allergic reactions and acute inflammation of the pancreas.
