They open a search for 500 young people to get their first formal job

The Empujar Foundation opens registration today for the Tu Empleo program, granting 500 completely free scholarships for young people between 18 and 24 years old who come from vulnerable contexts. This program seeks to provide tools and support so that participants can access formal employment, marking a before and after in their professional and personal development.

During the five months that the training lasts, young people will receive comprehensive training in key soft skills for the workplace. Among the featured contents, they will learn how to design their resume, participate in mock interviews (individual and group) and will have the opportunity to visit companies to get closer to the real world of work. In addition, the program includes self-knowledge modules, promoting this skill as a fundamental tool for personal progress.

At the end of the program, graduates will have access to the Foundation’s exclusive employment portal, where they will find formal job offers from companies that are part of the network, and will continue to be accompanied by the employment area one year after graduation.

Registrations are made through a form on the foundation’s official website: www.fundacionempujar.org/tu-empleo.

The training includes three classes per week for five months and begins on February 21, 2025. Those interested must be between 18 and 24 years old, reside in the vicinity of the training venues and complete all stages of the registration process.

Proven impact

The results of the Push Foundation programs are overwhelming: the majority of young people who complete this experience report a significant transformation in their confidence, employability and life project.

Victoria Alvarado is 24 years old, she graduated from the foundation and assures that everything she learned helped her get her first job. “The CV I made at the beginning compared to the last one I made, already well modified and updated, made a big difference. Thanks to this change in the presentation and organization of information, I began to receive calls from many places,” he says. And he adds: “The training we did in groups helped me improve in the organization of my ideas and in the distribution of tasks. I apply this in my current role.”

Likewise, he explains that another thing he values is mentoring. “My mentors gave me a lot of information about formal work. I learned the correct way to express myself, something that seems minor, but it is key,” he says.

Finally, he highlights the importance of training: “Push reaffirmed to me that you should never stop learning. I also realized that there are many myths about the first job; I think that if we train ourselves and focus on what we are really passionate about, the opportunities of getting a job are much greater,” he says.

About Push

The foundation has been working for more than a decade on youth labor insertion, developing programs that connect companies, young people and communities to build together a future with more opportunities.

Despite the discouraging data on unemployment that hits the young population hardest, Push shows that change is possible. During 2024, 1,720 young people received free training in its programs, in coordination with 460 companies and thanks to the support of 1,650 volunteers who joined to strengthen the social capital of young people. In 2024, Push facilitated more than 540 formal jobs in the year, reaching a total employability rate of 70% and a formal employability rate of 50% in its programs.

Germán Lojk, executive director of the foundation, states that the Your Employment program encourages the development of skills and abilities, and provides tools that empower young people to be creators of their own future. “We know that your personal growth is strongly linked to access to the labor market. Each young person who manages to enter formal employment not only transforms their quality of life, but also that of their family group, opening a horizon of new opportunities,” he indicates. And he closes: “Our goal is to always be a bridge to those opportunities.”
