Franz Stärk is currently on RTL+ as “Golden Bachelor” and is looking for a woman at his side. How did the search for love turn out for him?
Franz Stärk (73) can currently be seen as “Golden Bachelor” (a new episode every Tuesday). Single women over 60 are vying for his heart. From January 26th, the dating show will also be broadcast linearly on RTL on Sundays from 7:05 p.m. Rosenkavalier has now reported on his experience in the dating format and shared details about the outcome of the show.
His son, with whom he has a very close relationship, brought him to the attention of the production company, reports Franz Stärk about the background story behind his participation. “He thought dad had to go under the hood again. He could use a wife again. He said there was a format that would be just right for me.” His son asked him if he could register him, to which Stärk replied in the affirmative. The call from production came as a surprise. A casting followed, which included, among other things, a one-hour video call and a conversation in Cologne.
While filming in Crete, he met 18 women, which initially “wasn’t nice,” the Rosenkavalier continues. “It was challenging and so surreal.” The first meeting, in which the ladies drove up in a limousine and entered the villa after a short small talk with the “Golden Bachelor”, was “very stressful”. “I think I stood there for two and a half hours.”
The decision-making process as to which of the women had to leave the show was also “grotesque” and “creepy”. They were all top women, “empathetic and extremely interesting women with life stories […] It was very difficult for me to decide who to choose.” He doesn’t want to rule out the possibility that the women who were eliminated were hurt and humiliated, but that’s not how he experienced it. “The women who had to leave are with the other women and no longer came into contact with me. Many people also understood my situation.”
“Golden Bachelor” talks about relationships
He saw it as “possible” that he would find a woman for himself in the dating format, but his focus was on “getting to know people. Taking part in a production. Seeing what kind of life experiences the women have and working with them “If the cherry on the cake comes and I fall in love, then that’s a great thing,” says Stärk.
When asked by host Giovanni di Lorenzo (65) whether he ultimately fell in love, the “Golden Bachelor” explains: “I’m not allowed to say anything about being in love with women.” But he has decided on someone, reveals Franz Stärk. The “Golden Bachelor” also answered “yes” to whether this was someone who still played a role in his life and whether there was still a relationship. The 73-year-old didn’t want to answer whether it was a relationship that still made him hopeful.
