TV break begins with flight breakdown

Florian Silbereisen had to quickly reschedule his flight to the “Dream Ship” filming in Costa Rica.

With an emotional moment, Florian Silbereisen (43) said goodbye to his TV audience on January 11th during the well-deserved show break. But the start of his announced break didn’t go entirely according to plan: instead of flying directly to Costa Rica for the next “Dream Ship” filming as planned, the entertainer had to take an unexpected detour.

Unexpected stopover in Canada

“If your flight is canceled and you go to Canada instead of Costa Rica…”, “Somehow I’ll get to Costa Rica – I’ll stay relaxed!”

The unplanned change of route comes at a special time for Silbereisen: At the most recent edition of “Schlagerchampions” he said goodbye to his audience during the TV show break just a few days ago.

“I’m endlessly grateful for what I’ve been able to experience recently. It still feels like a dream,” he told the “Bild” newspaper in advance. “But after the ‘Schlagerchampions’ on Saturday evening I’ll be gone! That’s my last big Eurovision show until the summer.” He wanted to give all viewers “a break from the Silbereisen TV show,” as he joked.

During the live show itself, after a technical problem, he once again showed himself to be a seasoned professional: “While the sound was cut off at the beginning of the show, he confidently mastered the situation together with the audience.”

Planned comeback in summer

During his break, Florian Silbereisen devotes himself to his “dream ship” role as Captain Max Parger in the popular travel feature film series before a vacation. On June 20th and 21st, 2025 he will be back on the big show stage at the “Schlagerbooom Open-Air” in Kitzbühel, Tyrol.
