British Princess Kate continues to recover from cancer treatment. As has now been announced, the royals took a break in the snow as a “normal family”.
Princess Kate made her first major solo appearance in more than a year on January 14, speaking about her battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. The wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, also gave a health update on Instagram and stated that the cancer was in remission. “It’s a relief and I remain focused on recovery,” she continued. This recovery apparently also included a family vacation that Kate is said to have taken at the start of the new year.
Princess Kate: “Completely normal family” on a skiing holiday
Kate and William took a break in the Alps with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, at the turn of the year. According to the newspaper, the family left their Sandringham estate, Anmer Hall, after Christmas and spent several days in the snow with members of the Middleton family.
Kate’s brother James Middleton and his wife are said to have been there, among others. The entire family is said to have been spotted in a mountain restaurant. “It was nice to see Kate relaxing and enjoying herself,” said a Mail on Sunday source.
“No airs and graces”
Another insider added: “Everyone seemed very happy. There were no airs and graces and they seemed like a normal family enjoying a ski holiday. There was a lot of laughter and the children were very polite.” The only reason it was noticed that they were important people was “that a group of security guards arrived with Kate.” Kate is said to have been back in the UK for her birthday on January 9th.
Princess Kate and her important role in the royal family
Happy Birthday, Princess Kate! Prince William’s wife turns 43 on Thursday. This year she is celebrating her special day at home in Windsor – and not, as usual, at her country estate in Norfolk. Kate has had a difficult year and only returned to work a few weeks ago after undergoing chemotherapy. Her appearances are now less frequent, but when she does come, it is always with full presence, like here at a Christmas service in London at the beginning of December.
