Prince Frédéric von Anhalt is in an intensive care unit in Cologne. But he should be able to leave this on Monday, as he himself reports.
Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (81) spoke out again after his admission to a Cologne clinic. The 81-year-old confirmed that he could be transferred from the intensive care unit to a normal ward on Monday. Ex-husband of acting legend Zsa Zsa Gabor (1917-2016) fought against severe pneumonia, which, according to “Bild”, also resulted in kidney failure and heart failure.
Frédéric von Anhalt now wants to take things easier
The 81-year-old explains to the newspaper that he has already given up on himself. “I didn’t want to anymore and thought that I have to go now and will soon be with my wife Zsa Zsa Gabor.” But the doctors brought him back and saved his life. If he hadn’t gone to the clinic on the advice of an emergency doctor, “I would be dead now,” says Prince Frédéric von Anhalt.
He learned from his breakdown and didn’t want to continue living in the fast lane. After all, he’s 81 and not 51, “even though I’ve always felt that way,” the patient continues. In the future he will take things a little easier. On Monday he “absolutely” wants to watch the inauguration of “his” President Donald Trump (78) on TV.
Several media outlets previously reported on Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt’s hospitalization. The Munich “Abendzeitung” sent a text message from Anhalt in which he explained: “I’m stuck with pneumonia. I have no voice. Doctors say I have to stay in the hospital for three more weeks.”
In addition, his most recently adopted son, footballer Kevin Prinz von Anhalt (30), talked about his hospital visit a few days ago. His adoptive father was “trembling,” “very weak,” and “connected to tubes.” Kevin von Anhalt continued: “We talked a bit, but he kept coughing, really badly from his lungs. I’ve really never seen him like that before.”
