On the eve of his inauguration, Donald Trump celebrated his election victory with prominent guests – and danced with the Village People.
His dance steps to the disco hit “YMCA” have now achieved cult status. On the evening before his inauguration on January 20th, Donald Trump (78) performed this alongside the Village People. The US President-elect celebrated his “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” at the Capital One Arena in Washington on Sunday. There were prominent guests there.
In addition to the band Village People, other prominent show acts who appeared during Trump’s election campaign appeared at the rally, including country singer Lee Greenwood (82) with his song “God Bless The USA”. The musicians Kid Rock (54) and Billy Ray Cyrus (63) were also there.
Elon Musk among the speakers
The prominent speakers included tech billionaire Elon Musk (53) and actor Jon Voight (86). Contrary to expectations, Trump’s deputy JD Vance (40) did not take the lectern, as was the case, among other things. In addition, thousands of supporters filled almost all of the stadium’s more than 20,000 seats.
On January 20th, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th US President. The swearing-in ceremony with Vice President JD Vance will take place at 6 p.m. German time.
