Rami Malek was mistaken by police officers for a suspect. He revealed in an interview how he was treated.
Rami Malek (43) reported an intimidating encounter with the police. The “Bohemian Rhapsody” star revealed that officers thought he was a suspect. “I was thrown onto the hood of an LAPD police car because someone robbed a liquor store and picked a woman’s purse,” Malek told the newspaper. The police explained that the thief was of Latin American descent and that he matched the description. “I remember how hot the engine was. They must have rushed over there and I almost burned my hands.”
The actor eventually escaped the situation because a friend pointed out to police that Malek’s family had Egyptian roots, not Latin American ones. He went on to reveal about the incident: “I remember lying on the police car laughing and thinking, ‘Okay, this is a very precarious situation. I may well be going to prison for something I didn’t do must.'”

Malek, who was born in Los Angeles to Egyptian parents, did not reveal when the incident took place. In the interview he also talked about his relationship with Emma Corrin (29). The first rumors that the 43-year-old and the “Nosferatu” star were together emerged in 2023. Corrin is “fascinating,” said Malek, who rarely talks about his private life, now, among other things, and reports on a movie night the couple had together.
Rami Malek started his Hollywood career about 20 years ago. He is best known for the role of Elliot Alderson in the television series “Mr. Robot” (2015-2019) and for portraying Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in the music biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” (2018). He received numerous awards for this, including the Oscar for Best Actor. Malek was subsequently seen in the James Bond film “No Time to Die” (2021) and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” (2023), among others.
