Creation of her house and yard designer: Melanie Trump appeared at her husband’s inauguration ball in a black and white look.
Melania Trump (54) attended the evening ball for her husband’s inauguration on January 20th in a shoulder-free evening dress. The First Lady opted for a black and white design from her longtime stylist Hervé Pierre. Together with Donald Trump (78), who wore a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie, she performed the traditional opening dance.
Her outfit was a strapless white satin dress with a leg slit. What made it particularly striking was the black line that ran from the skirt over the bodice. Melania paired it with a diamond brooch designed by luxury jeweler Harry Winston in 1955 and wore it as a tight necklace on a satin ribbon.
Same designer as in 2017
In a statement about the outfit, which was published on Monday and is available, the designer raved about the collaboration with Melania. “It is a great honor to have worked with the First Lady to design her inaugural dress. It was clear that Mrs. Trump was drawn to a combination of black and white – in keeping with her own style and vision,” said the French-American fashion designer.
Pierre explained that he only had two weeks to create the design. the designer showed the sketch of the dress, which initially only consisted of a black line. “How it started… A simple scratch with a marker on a piece of paper can be the beginning of an idea!” it said.
Hervé Pierre had already designed Melania Trump’s dress for the inauguration ball during Donald Trump’s first term in office, which began in 2017. Back then, too, the First Lady wore a white, strapless silk dress, also with an applied line detail. According to the designer, he hopes that his design will emphasize the strength of the 54-year-old.
Melania and Donald Trump are dancing into their second term
Melania Trump certainly seemed comfortable in her outfit at the ball. After Donald Trump and she initially moved somewhat stiffly across the dance floor, Vice President JD Vance (40) later let Vice President JD Vance (40) turn her around her own axis. The usually strict Melania beamed all over her face, as photos show. For a short time, she even joined her husband in dancing to the cult song “YMCA,” which was often used in his election campaign.
Donald and Melania Trump attended a total of three inaugural balls in the evening after Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the USA and the signing ceremony in the Oval Office: the Commander-in-Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball and the Starlight Ball.
