The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) this week banned the sale and distribution of two well-known brands of oil for not meeting the requirements to guarantee its commercialization.

This was announced in the Official Gazettewhere the entity reported that said products presented serious irregularities in terms of health controls. Therefore, it was decided to withdraw the products from the markets and online sales. This measure also reached a mark of sugar.

The ANMAT prohibits the sale of this oil
Through provisions 345/2025 and 346/2025, the ANMAT ordered the ban of two brands of extra virgin olive oil. On the one hand, the oil “Rivera Family“, produced in La Rioja. According to the survey, the National Registry of Establishments (RNE) and National Registry of Food Products (RNPA) numbers detailed on the labeling were non-existent or they corresponded to other products that had already been canceled.
The second brand is oil “Uco Valley“, in which it was detected that had a “No TACC” legend without the corresponding authorizationtherefore it implied a risk to the health of consumers.
The sugar brand affected
On the other hand, in provision 348/2025, the ANMAT advanced the prohibition of the brand: “Common sugar type A; Alex brand Origin: Eng. Concepción – San Miguel de Tucumán; Fractionated by AZÚCARES DEL OESTE SRL, San Juan 200, San Miguel de Tucumán; PROVINCE OF TUCUMÁN; RNP. Cert. No. 010126598; RNPA No. 01005727″.

This was banned in Argentina due to the lack of valid health recordsas well as the valid RNE and RNPA, which were non-existent. Furthermore, the company name of the fractionation company was non-existent and the product was falsely labeled.
