Kristin Davis: Man borrowed money then ignored me
Kristin Davis, known as Carrie’s friend Charlotte on “Sex and the City,” was stood up by a man who owed her $5,000.
“Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis shares how a man long ago cut off contact with her after she loaned him $5,000. “I once dated this unemployed actor,” says the 59-year-old, who plays Carrie’s friend Charlotte in the hit series “Sex and the City” and its follow-up series “And Just Like That…”, in her new podcast “Are You “Charlotte?”
The man had “all these” bills and reminders lying around his apartment, Davis said. When his motorcycle broke down, she offered to lend him money. “That changed the dynamic in a terrible way.”
She remembers giving the man “a whole $5,000” – “and then he stops calling. I thought to myself, ‘What the heck?'” Davis said. She drove to his apartment and knocked on his door, but he didn’t open it. Today this man is a successful actor, Davis revealed. She believes this is an example of a situation where she fell victim to the dating phenomenon of ghosting.
