Pharrell Williams attracted fashion fans to Paris as part of Fashion Week. At his side: his long-time friend and colleague Nigō.
As creative director of Louis Vuitton, Pharrell Williams (51) opened Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday evening (January 21st). As the current pictures from the French capital show, the singer presented streetwear that was created in collaboration with the music producer and fashion designer Nigō (54). The models walked the runway in tweed-look suits, Bermuda shorts, cropped bomber jackets and cargo pants.
24 showcases displaying collectibles such as sneakers and a gold Blackberry phone underlined the fashionable homage to the 2000s. Some of these pieces come from the two musicians’ personal archives, while others were Louis Vuitton archive pieces -.
Delayed due to Trump’s swearing in
According to the British daily, the show was delayed by more than 90 minutes. The reason for this was the French business family Arnault, who had taken part in the inauguration of Donald Trump (78) in the USA the day before and needed time to return to Paris. In the end, Bernard Arnault (75), together with his children Delphine (49) and Alexandre (32), sat in the front row of the fashion show. Next to them, actors Adrien Brody (51) and Bradley Cooper (50) as well as basketball player Victor Wembanyama (21) marveled at the creations.
Williams and Nigō have been friends for years
For Williams, who has been creative director of men’s fashion at Louis Vuitton since 2023, this is not the first collaboration with the Japanese entrepreneur Nigō. In 2003 they founded the streetwear labels Billionaire Boys Club and Icecream. A year later they worked for Louis Vuitton for the first time and created a pair of sunglasses that are still sold today.
