Concern for a music legend: Sting has to cancel all January dates on medical advice. The concerts will be postponed until early summer.
Worrying news from music icon Sting (73): The singer has to postpone several planned performances at short notice for health reasons. , the ex-police frontman is following an urgent medical recommendation. An exact diagnosis was not given in the statement.
Particularly bitter: Sting cannot appear at the “Bass Magazine Awards Gala”, where he was to be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his life’s work on Thursday. The two US concerts on his “STING 3.0” tour planned for the end of January in Phoenix and Wheatland will also be postponed to early summer. His appearance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary also has to be postponed.
Dates for catch-up concerts are already known
“Fans should keep their tickets for the postponed shows as they remain valid for the new dates,” assures management. The new dates have already been set: The Phoenix concert will be rescheduled for June 1st, the performance in Wheatland will take place on May 28th.
The musician, known for his strict fitness routine, said through his management: “Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks the fans for their understanding.” The British superstar, whose real name is Gordon Matthew Sumner, has been one of the most successful musicians in the world since the late 1970s. After his time as frontman of The Police, he started a no less successful solo career. Three of his albums reached number one in the British charts.
