A recently published report showed the expectations, moods and behaviors of 26,000 workers in 35 countries. In Argentina, the balance between work and personal life emerges as a priority for 87% of employees, exceeding the global average of 82% and positioning itself as the second most important attribute when evaluating a job, after salary.
This is the Workmonitor 2025 study, prepared by Randstad, a leading talent solutions company. The report also highlights that the perception of flexibility—including adaptable schedules and remote or hybrid work options—is key for workers.
Employment: the preferences of Argentines regarding the work environment
“Workmonitor 2025 data shows that a new baseline is emerging in the workplace,” he said. Andrea Ávila, CEO of Randstad for Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. “Personal fulfillment, well-being and other factors such as flexibility are reshaping the way workers define professional success.”
48% of Argentine respondents stated that they would not accept a job that did not offer flexible hours, while 42% would reject a job without teleworking options or hybrid schemes. These percentages are above global averages (47% and 39%, respectively).
At the regional level, Argentina leads in the preference for a balance between personal and work life, followed by Chile (86%) and Uruguay (83%). “This result shows an evolution in talent priorities,” adds Ávila. “In a context of growing skills shortages, companies must adapt to these new expectations to attract and retain the best professionals.”
The relationship between flexibility and trust is also highlighted in the report. 65% of Argentine workers consider that they would trust their employer more if they offered personalized benefits such as flexible hours or the possibility of working from home. This level of trust is also observed in Uruguay (65%), while in Chile it reaches 59% and globally it stands at 56%.

Additionally, 33% of Argentines indicated they had resigned from a job due to lack of flexibility. This percentage is comparable to the 36% registered in Chile and higher than the global average of 31%. These data underline the importance of adapting working conditions to the needs of talent.
Although the report reflects local particularities, it also highlights global trends. The demand for flexibility is related not only to the organization of schedules, but also to the workplace. The possibility of avoiding long commutes and choosing to work from home or in a hybrid scheme is increasingly valued.
“Although it could be expected that the economic conditions of 2024 would moderate workers’ expectations, the study demonstrates that labor empowerment is not a temporary phenomenon,” says Ávila. “Workers are more aware of their priorities and do not hesitate to look for a job that allows them to balance their personal and professional needs.”
Basically, Workmonitor 2025 highlights the need for companies to redefine their value propositions to align with the demands of increasingly demanding talent. In a context of high competition for skills, offering working conditions that prioritize well-being and flexibility is not only a competitive advantage, but a pressing need.
The message for organizations is clear: In a world where talent seeks more than just a competitive salary, adapting to these new expectations is essential to attract and retain the best professionals.. As Ávila concludes, “Business success increasingly depends on how companies manage to align their objectives with the aspirations of their employees.”
