“Obviously the trap is aberrant and I am going to remove it, what happens is that I am a libertarian liberal, I am not a libertarian liberal”held.
In another part of the interview, Milei maintained that obtaining fresh foreign currency would accelerate the process to release capital restrictions. “We are still going to get out of the stocks at some point when we manage to rebuild the balance of stocks in the Central Bank, the difference is that if we get financing the exit is faster. Any type of agreement that we make either with the IMF and/or with investment funds will not be used to finance the Treasury but to rebuild the balance sheet of Banco Central”, he commented.
Milei gave details of the negotiations with the IMF
Javier Milei also referred to the dialogue that the Government maintains with the authorities of the IMFand said in this regard that “one part – of the negotiation – has to do with the structure of these payments and another with obtaining new funds to rebuild the accounts of the Central Bank, that is, the stocks, and in this way accelerate the exit of the stocks. We are going to leave but the speed will depend on how much the amount of the operation is and how it is structured.”
