Months after his successful withdrawal, Marc Terenzi speaks about the shocking extent of his alcohol consumption.
Hydration with hard liquor: Marc Terenzi (46) spoke in the “Bild” newspaper about his time before the rehab clinic and revealed his frightening relationship with alcohol.
“I drank gin and vodka like water,” admitted the former star of the boy band Natural. While others drank two bottles of water a day, the singer drank two liters of vodka or gin and then felt able to go on stage.
In the summer of 2024, he finally checked himself into rehab. Shortly before, his partner Verena Kerth (43) had thrown him out the door. “There was this one day when I kicked him out of the apartment because he was already drunk at lunchtime and smashed the whole apartment and raged around,” she said in September last year.
He couldn’t afford to withdraw
But Marc Terenzi was unable to pay for the urgently needed rehabilitation treatment. “There was no more money coming in, I couldn’t even pay child support anymore,” he revealed in the podcast. His ex-wife, the German singer Sarah Connor (44), therefore covered the costs of the nine-week withdrawal. With her he has two grown-up children, Tyler (20) and Summer (18).
“I did a lot of bad things, including taking drugs, but my children are still there for me,” said Terenzi proudly. Just like his ex-wife didn’t abandon him: “Sarah and her Florian (Sarah’s current husband, editor’s note) saved my life.”
New beginnings on Mallorca
Now the musician wants to get back on his feet financially and is daring to start over as a restaurateur on Mallorca. “I wake up every day with a good feeling. And that’s how it should stay. The island is good for me,” he reported in December 2024. The winner of the 2017 jungle camp would like to open an ice cream parlor on the Balearic island in spring.
